Valkyrie.nu was registered in September of 2009 as a new gaming/fandom collective. Previously, the sites here could be found at december-rain.org. What it really came down to was wanting to have a more professional portfolio online to showcase my art and design work. The former domain has been used as a portfolio site several times in the past. The name kind of reflects e as a person, so I didn't want to give it up. Nor did I want to give up my precious fansites. I see so many people these days packing up and leaving because they felt that they "grew out" of making fansites. Instead of going that route, I invested in a domain where I can keep my online hobbies alive. Valkyrie.nu is hosted on my own VPS server from Mochahost.
It's been several years since I've had a .nu domain. I originally wanted to re-register my old one. However, I decided to pick something different. After working on my comic/community project, I became interested in Norse mythology. Valkyries were female deities that chose who would die in battle before taking them to Valhalla. They are often pictured with beautiful wings or winged headgear and horses. They're also popular within video games, namely Valkyrie Profile. Additionally, it's also the name of one of Rinoa's weapons in Final Fantasy VIII. Since she's my favorite character of all time, I've always wanted to have a domain somewhat related to her since I began making websites.

My name is Bobbi I celebrated my 28th birthday in December of 2009. I've been making websites actively since 1999, but I've been an internet user since 1997. I love art and design first and foremost. Beyond that, I enjoy RPG video games, cosplay, Asian ball jointed dolls, Sci-fi movies, and cats. That probably makes me a regular weeaboo, at least that's what my boyfriend would say.
